Country, language and time settings

The page controls country, language and time of day related settings on your router.

  • Country
    		•  Choose the country the router is located in
  • Language
    		•  Choose the language to use for the local GUI of the router
  • Time Zone
    		•  Choose the Time Zone you are located in.

Choose the daylight saving option if you want the router to automatically adjust for daylight time saving.

Choose to use predefined NTP servers for most normal use cases if this option is not already pre-selected. The router will then use pool.ntp.org as NTP service.

Choose to use custom NTP server if you want to use an NTP server of your own choice and fill in the requested field

It is important to select the correct country otherwise some services might behave in an unwanted way. The country setting determines a number of country specific service settings of your router. Examples of such ervices are Wi-Fi settings and telephony settings. Note that due to regulatory reasons, a router sold in a specific country might have its Wi-Fi settings locked to that country independent of the country setting made by the end user.

Several languages are supported according to the list in the drop down menu. If ”None” is selected, the language will be determined by the language used by the browser of the PC, tablet or smart phone used to access the router. This option can be advantageous if several persons use the router but have different language preferences.

The time of day information is useful for some services in the router that need the time of day information. The router automatically sets the correct time of day by contacting an internet time service that provides the correct time of day. The router has a built in internet address to such an internet time service which will be used unless an internet address to a specific service is added by the end user. For most end users the built in internet address is a good choice and in this case no specific setting is needed.
