VPN settings
The router supports VPN services. VPN allow end users to connect to the router and access services in the home from any location using a smart phone, tablet or PC connected to the public internet. By enabling the VPN service a L2TP LNS server instance is created in the router. Optionally IPsec can be used as well to get a secure connection between the connected device and the router.
Choose Enable L2TP/IPSec server to enable the VPN service on the router and fill in the requested fields,
- PPP user name
- PPP Password

Create a username to be used by the devices that want to connect to the router. |

Create a password to be used by the devices that want to connect to the router. |
Choose Enable IPSec to use IPSec together with the L2TP VPN service and fill in the requested fields,
- IPSec Pre-Shared Key

Create an IPSec password to be used by the devices that want to connect to the router. |
Further information
VPN is short for Virtual Private Network and is a technology to create a virtual bridge between a device and a remote network and in fact get the same experience as if the device was locally connected to the router in the home. There are many VPN technologies. The router supports L2TP VPN.
